In a pool of dough, we keep plenty of warm oil on the painful, blocked joints and body parts (waist, knees, spine, navel, neck, shoulders, chest). Local pain relief , solution on 1-2 body parts as needed. We always choose the oil and materials used in harmony with your personality and the season!
Ayurvedic treatments in which warm oil is applied to the affected body part in an area surrounded by a dough wall are collectively called basti. The temperature of the oil is raised continuously, but very slowly. It is the composition of the special oil or concoction used and the heat that exerts its beneficial effect.
Depending on which part of the body it is placed on, they go by different names. The best known is the kati basti placed on the waist. There is also janu basti for the knees, uro basti for the chest, griva basti for the back of the neck, netra basti for the eyes, chakra basti for the navel, prustha basti for the entire spine. If the word basti is used by itself, enema can also refer to therapy!
If you only come to us for basti treatment, we will lay the guest in the correct position on the heated treatment bed and place the pasta wall. There is a possibility for 2 body parts in 90 minutes if the therapist can reach them in a lying position (e.g. knees). Untreated body parts are thoroughly covered. During the treatment, the healing sounds we are used to play and stress-relieving scents accompany the process. We avoid bright lights in order to ensure a meditative state, when you can focus your attention on the treated area, thereby also giving energy and attention to your “number”. At the end of the procedure, the body area is massaged to help the dissolved ama (substances not digested by cells) to be emptied, and to provide caring and corrective movements to the stiff joints that have been dissolved. This type of therapy is most effective 3 times in a row, but a significant improvement in pain relief can be seen even on the first occasion. At the end, we apply steam therapy or a warm steam bath.
