Indications : to relax the brain and through it the nervous system, to sharpen and refine the five senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste) (e.g. sommelier, chef, perfumer or due to age-related decline in ability), insomnia, anxiety-type imbalances, depression , hair loss, fatigue, vata (air, ether) nervous system complaints, defocused mind, attention deficit disorder, epilepsy, and in all cases where your holistic doctor recommends this complementary therapy.
We treat and massage your upper body with pleasantly warm oil from your shoulder blades to the top of your head, and then use a special tool to continuously drip oil onto your forehead. We always choose the oil and materials used in harmony with your personality and the season! In this therapy, the time of oil dripping is also adjusted to your needs.
Shirodhara is a unique form of ancient medical treatment in Ayurveda, the purpose of which is to silently drip oil or decoction on the forehead. From a specified height, for a specified period of time, continuously and evenly, with a rhythm that allows the oil or potion to pass through the scalp into the hair and the region below.
The guest rests in a lying position on the heated treatment table. His eyes and ears are covered with cotton to help him block out the environment as the dhara pot oscillates slowly over his forehead. The oil or concoction is directed by the practitioner to flow rhythmically over the forehead, trickling over the hairy scalp, invigorating your mind and body, resulting in a deep state of relaxation. At the end, the guest feels as if he had bought himself a ticket to a movie that he could watch in deep silence, without getting involved. The procedure is carried out for at least 45 minutes.
Among the benefits of shirodhara is a deep inner peace and relaxed state, which is immediately noticeable. The brain, and through it the nervous system, benefits from a deep rest. The functioning of the five senses improves , helps to say goodbye to insomnia , reduces anxiety-type imbalances , depression , hair loss , and fatigue . It best counters vata (air, ether) type of nervous system complaints and makes the mind calm and focused . It helps in case of epilepsy if the guest takes the treatment according to a carefully planned plan.
I would like to single out insomnia from those listed. A significant problem for today’s society is that the stress accumulated during the day could not be relieved during the day, so your body and mind slowly relax in the evening and you cannot fall asleep until midnight or even two in the morning. According to Ayurveda, the human body is in the pitta (fire element) period from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., which means that when the body sleeps, the body transforms. It digests the stresses accumulated during the day and places the imprints in the appropriate drawer. It also removes the slag from the stomach and intestines. It also carries out its deep regeneration processes at this time. If someone does not sleep regularly during this period, then the pitta dosa (fire element), which rules the day at this time, lights a kind of fire in his mind and even more so he cannot fall asleep. If this process persists, a person’s life will be shortened by years, since his body cannot rest and regenerate in the time it provides, so it is extremely important: eat when you are hungry, drink when you are thirsty, go to the toilet when you are irritated and go to bed at nine o’clock in the evening to Go to bed by 10 o’clock to give your body the basic support it needs to serve you in a more fulfilling life.
